Kaufman Rossin has an exciting career opportunity for a Cost Segregation Professional to join our dynamic Tax practice, in Boca Raton.  This is a great growth opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented professional with a cost estimation, construction management, or tangible property services background.  You will work closely with a dedicated team of engineers and tax experts to help our clients identify advantageous classification of assets.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing/performing cost segregation and fixed asset studies from start to finish
  • Coordinate and collect information from building owners, architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Provide detailed cost analysis of commercial/industrial building projects
  • Make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities
  • Plan income tax items for budgeting and cash flow
  • Perform quantity surveys from construction documents and physical site inspections
  • Analyze construction cost data and design drawings
  • Estimate construction costs using nationally recognized costing sources
  • Determine appropriate tax objectives, scope, and methodology and actively participate in decision making with client’s management to understand the broader impact of current decisions
  • Assist with review process
  • Assist with new client identification and cost segregation study proposals
  • Actively contribute to the development of the cost segregation practice

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Accounting, or other relevant fields
  • 1-4 years of cost segregation, cost estimation, or construction management preferred
  • Estimating experience preferred
  • Ability to read construction blueprints
  • Excellent verbal communication and strong technical writing skills
  • Enjoy complex and challenging project work and willing to work on a variety of strategic, financial, and operational projects
  • Strong mentoring, training and staff development skills preferred
  • This position may require some local and national travel
