AICPA Honors Michael A. Crain for Contributions to Accounting Profession
Kaufman Rossin, one of the largest independent accounting firms in Florida, would like to congratulate forensic, advisory and valuation services senior advisor Dr. Michael A. Crain on being selected as one of 14 recipients of the “Sustained Contribution Award” by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
The award recognizes CPAs who have contributed measurably to the organization and the accounting profession through their dedication to volunteer service. All of the recipients have participated in an institute volunteer committee, task force or resource panel for 20 years or more and have served at least once as a chair of an AICPA group.
“I am grateful to have dedicated more than 10 years of my time to give back to the AICPA and accounting profession,” said Crain. “I have learned a great deal from superior thought leaders as well as from contributing to the accounting profession at a national level.”
Dr. Crain, a member of faculty at Florida Atlantic University in the School of Accounting and director of FAU’s Center for Forensic Accounting, has decades of experience as a consulting and testifying expert. He has served as an expert in many commercial cases, on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts. He has also served as an arbitrator in commercial damages and minority shareholder cases, as a court-appointed accountant, and as a special investigator on behalf of the county attorney and board of county commissioners for a Florida county government.
