During our busy season, our people put in long hours. To keep productivity and morale high, we need to take care of our staff.

Case-by-case basis

The solution: Flex time.

But since treating employees fairly doesn’t mean treating everyone the same, we’ve decided to take flex-time requests on a case-by-case basis.

For each request, we take into account:

Some flex-time employees put in the same amount of hours, with options about when the work gets done. Others work fewer hours each day, or fewer days each week.

Yes, it’s a little more work for us to manage the individual arrangements. But the benefit – staffers with high levels of job satisfaction – makes it worthwhile.

So far, the program’s been a huge success. How do we know? We have about 30 employees taking advantage of our flex-time scheduling – and we’ve heard nothing but good things from those employees.
