Michael A. Crain Joins Kaufman Rossin as Senior Advisor
Kaufman Rossin, one of the largest independent accounting firms in Florida, today announced the addition of Dr. Michael A. Crain, DBA, CPA/ABV, CFA, CFE, as a senior advisor in their forensic, advisory and valuation group. Crain will consult on forensic, economic damage and business valuation matters.
Crain, a member of faculty at Florida Atlantic University in the School of Accounting and director of FAU’s Center for Forensic Accounting, has decades of experience as a consulting and testifying expert. He has served as an expert in many commercial cases, on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in state and Federal courts. He has also served as an arbitrator in commercial damages and minority shareholder cases, as a court-appointed accountant, and as a special investigator on behalf of the county attorney and board of county commissioners for a Florida county government. He has been an author, co-author or contributing author of professional books and journal articles, and was honored with the AICPA’s Lawler Award presented by the Journal of Accountancy for best article of the year.
A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Florida since 1984, Crain holds certifications in valuation, fraud examination, and financial analysis: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from CFA Institute, Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) from American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) from Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has also been approved as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Panel. He is a member of the AICPA’s Business Valuation Hall of Fame.
Crain earned his Doctor of Business Administration (finance) degree from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, England. He also holds MBA and BA in Accounting degrees from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.
