It’s been almost a year since the Distressed Community Association Relief Act went into effect on July 1, 2010. So what’s new? Florida legislators have once again passed new legislation, and it addresses certain ambiguities from the 2010 law, sharpens the teeth of community associations’ powers in dealing with delinquent unit owners and their tenants and reinforces the mantra “Buyer Beware.”
The new law, signed by Gov. Rick Scott, will go into effect Friday.
