MIAMI, June 28, 2011 – App developers Lit Software today announced that TrialPad 2.0 has been released and is now available for purchase in the iTunes App store. Following enthusiastic reviews from users, media and bloggers TrialPad’s initial launch in January, version 2.0 has incorporated many new features based on user feedback and technology advances. The iPad app was designed specifically for litigators, expert witnesses and paralegals for legal file management and presentation of electronic evidence.
TrialPad will maintain its one-time cost of $89.99; version 2.0 is a free upgrade to existing TrialPad users. Updated features of 2.0 include:
- Support for multiple file types including PDF, JPG, GIF, PNG, TIF, Keynote, Pages,Numbers, DOC, XLS,PPT, DOCX, XLXS, PPTX, Multi-Page TIF, and TXT.
- Video support and basic video editing including clip creation and ability to take snapshots of video frames
- Enhanced presentation options and annotation tools including multiple callouts per page, split screen mode to show two exhibits side by side, whiteboard for drawing, multi-colored laser tool and many others
- New and improved document management and organization permitting separate tabs for documents and videos and a separate hot docs section for key documents
- Import from Dropbox with file and folder structure intact
- Printing support for current page and whole document printing with or without annotations
Attorneys around the world are using TrialPad in trial, hearing, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) settings. Unlike PDF readers, the app allows users to organize, manage, and annotate documents and present compelling evidence to a judge or jury using projection equipment that is available in most courtrooms and law firms. It seamlessly imports files and folder structure from Dropbox, so users can organize exhibits on any computer and then easily import multiple files into TrialPad with folder and file structures intact. Files can also be imported via email, iTunes, iAnnotate, GoodReader and ReaddleDocs.
The one-time cost of TrialPad is significantly lower than using professional trial presentation consultants, which is usually prohibitive for all but the largest cases. It’s also cheaper than what many attorneys spend on cumbersome trial boards for a single case.
