Julia Marina, JD,CAMS

Risk Advisory Services

Julia Marina helps broker-dealers and registered investment advisers manage risks associated with their industry – all while keeping their business objectives in mind. She draws upon more than a decade of experience working with financial services and Wall Street institutions across South Florida when developing compliance and anti-money laundering strategies.

Julia leverages her experience working with regulators from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) when advising clients on industry-specific regulations and potential risks. She also counsels financial institutions’ banking divisions on anti-money laundering compliance, and helps broker-dealers prepare for examinations.

Before joining Kaufman Rossin in 2018, Julia worked as an attorney where she primarily represented investors in investor protection and investor fraud cases. In this capacity, she gained specialized knowledge in offshore wealth management. Julia also worked briefly at the SEC.

As an attorney, Julia learned how to navigate FINRA arbitration and mediation processes. She applies this knowledge when identifying and addressing risks clients may face in each of their business lines.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, Florida Bar and Florida Bar Business Law Section, Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists. Julia is also a member of the Cuban American Bar Association, where she helps raise money for pro bono services.

She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and was formerly registered with FINRA.
