Read

Broward business leaders are optimistic about the future of their companies and the economic health of their county.

Kaufman Rossin recently partnered with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance to survey CEOs and business owners about their plans and outlook on the local business climate. The survey results highlight trends, including a general sense of optimism about what business leaders see coming in the next 18 months.

Among the key findings of the 2014 Broward CEO & Business Owner Survey are:

  1. Confidence is up. Two-thirds of survey respondents generally feel like things are better than they were one year ago, and 81% expect improvement to continue over the next 18 months.
  2. Sales are up. The majority of respondents said the current economy has had a positive impact on winning new business and retaining existing business.
  3. Businesses plan to hire. Nearly half plan to increase the number of full-time employees in the next 18 months.
  4. They plan to invest in marketing, technology and training. More than 80% said they will increase spending on marketing and technology, and 64% plan to focus on training.
