Read
South Florida’s economic development organizations and Enterprise Florida have had dozens of success stories of attracting manufacturers to South Florida over the last couple of years.
Here are five key reasons why:
- Easy access for shipping and transportation. There are three international airports and three major seaports. More than 14 million tons of container cargo passes through our ports each year. And for companies who have or plan to have international sales, South Florida is the gateway to Latin America.

- We’re investing in education and training. Local universities and colleges are receiving significant awards and recognition for great programs producing professionals (engineering, IT, business and accounting) as well as skilled workers (Microsoft engineer certifications, manufacturing and CNC equipment certifications).
- Florida is a growing hub. The state has identified several target industries where we already have substantial clusters of manufacturers including technology, life sciences, and more, and the industry continues to grow.
- It’s one of the most desirable places to live! Sandy beaches and warm sunshine year-round make South Florida a fun place to be. See for yourself – watch a live feed of the Miami beaches and waterfront.
