5 ways to show employees they’re your greatest asset

Business owners take a lot of factors into consideration when planning the elements of a successful company. However, many fail to realize that their employees can be their greatest assets.

When employees feel satisfied with their jobs, they are more loyal and productive, and in turn, their companies are more likely to succeed.  Here are five ways you can demonstrate that you value your employees:

    1. Provide Flex-Time.  Many employees have commitments outside of the workplace. Some are students; others are parents or have other responsibilities that require their time and attention. Offering flex-time can alleviate a lot of stress while helping employees balance their work and personal lives.
    2. Offer Competitive Salaries. In today’s marketplace competition is fierce. Companies have to compete for top performers.  Qualified employees that have the skills and experience to get the job done usually negotiate for top dollar.  Offering a competitive salary can either seal the deal or be a deal breaker.
    3. Implement Open Door Policy. Having an open door policy can make employees feel more comfortable communicating with their superiors. Employees who are encouraged to express their ideas and opinions with management usually take more pride and ownership of their work.
    4. Treat employees as individuals. Treating people fairly does not mean treating everyone the same, says Jim Kaufman, CEO and principal of Kaufman Rossin Management needs to recognize that every employee has       different personal and professional needs and circumstances. What is good for one person may not be good for another.
    5. Create opportunities for growth. Employees who work for companies that offer room for advancement work harder knowing that accomplishing professional goals can lead to promotions. And if you provide opportunities for career growth, your employees will be less likely to look elsewhere when they’re ready to move up the ladder.

Kaufman, Rossin takes pride in knowing its employees are its greatest assets.  It is reflected in the firm’s culture.  Employees who are treated with respect and enjoy coming to work will be more productive and more dedicated. That’s why “joy at work” is one of the firm’s key values. Happy employees lead to happy customers!
