Benefits of Employee Wellness Programs
Read
Employee wellness programs are becoming more common as they have been shown to boost morale, improve health and fitness habits, and increase productivity. Yet many workers find it challenging to prioritize their health while balancing work and other responsibilities.
Kaufman, Rossin, an award-winning Best Place to Work, understands this challenge and offers many opportunities for employees to focus on their health. The firm recently hosted employee wellness fairs at its Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton offices, and the Miami wellness fair will take place on December 4th. These fairs give employees a chance to participate in free health benefits, including:
• Flu shot
• Blood pressure screening
• Cholesterol screening
• Glucose screening
• BMI measurements
• On-site results & health counseling
Incorporating health and wellness programs is an investment for companies, but the benefits for both employers and employees outweigh the cost. Individuals who are stressed, work long hours and neglect their health are more likely to get sick and ultimately take time off from work.
Coors Brewing Company saw employee absenteeism drop 18% after it implemented a corporate wellness program. Coca-Cola saved $500 per employee every year after implementing its fitness program; 60% of its employees participated.
In addition to wellness fairs, Kaufman, Rossin offers its employees:
• On-site gym at main location
• Gym reimbursement for employees at other offices
• On-site massage
• Weekly yoga classes
Although it can be a struggle to find time for health and wellness, it’s important to make time to take care of yourself … and help your employees do the same.
