Kaufman Rossin in the Community: Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation

Chad Ribault talks about his community involvement.

Which organization are you involved in and what is its objective?

I’m involved with Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, it is one of the nation’s public bone marrow and blood stem cell registries. Through its life-saving work, Gift of Life is a world leader facilitating transplants for children and adults suffering from many life-threatening diseases, among them leukemia and lymphoma.

What is your role with the organization? 

I have been fundraising for this organization, and my friends and colleagues at Kaufman Rossin have played a huge role in my annual collection goals. I also take part in the organization’s annual Walk for Life. Gift of Life’s Walk for Life is the only event in South Florida solely dedicated to raising awareness for bone marrow, blood stem cell, and umbilical cord blood transplants.  The Walk is an emotional and uplifting day that honors the heroism of donors and transplant recipients. Every year, all net proceeds raised at the Walk are used to add new donors to the worldwide bone marrow registry.

 Why did you decide to get involved in this organization?

I happened to have read an advertisement about the walk-a-thon fundraiser. Then after learning more about this wonderful organization, I decided to help with its great cause.

How has Kaufman Rossin contributed to your success with this organization?

The firm is a hosting jeans day fundraiser to benefit the organization. Also, as mentioned above, I have received many generous contributions to the cause from employees working in every department throughout the firm.

What is your advice for others who are thinking about getting involved in the community?

Think about the quote from English writer and preacher John Bunyan: “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”
