Kaufman Rossin in the Community: Nicklaus Children’s Hospital
Read
Kevin Fine of Kaufman Rossin talks about his involvement in the community.
Which organization are you involved in and what is its objective?
Miracle Jeans Day has encouraged groups and individuals alike to trade their traditional work attire for jeans and help raise funds for kids treated at a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in the area. Since its beginning, Miracle Jeans Day has raised more than $2 million to help fund life-saving medical needs in Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
With that in mind, I work with Miracle Jeans Day to help fund treatment at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, formerly Miami Children’s Hospital, is South Florida’s only licensed specialty hospital exclusively for children with more than 650 attending physicians and over 130 pediatric sub-specialists. The hospital offers more than 40 pediatric specialties and subspecialties, and is home to Florida’s only free-standing pediatric trauma center.
What is your role with the organization?
I have supported both Miracle Jeans Day and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital for many years, helping to raise awareness and encouraging others to get involved with such great organizations. I want to help bring better services and activities to the kids at Nicklaus, especially those who have been admitted for some time.
Why did you decide to get involved in this organization?
My practice is heavily focused on the healthcare industry in South Florida. I have always had a strong connection to the healthcare initiatives in this community, and I decided to get involved directly after attending fundraisers hosted by the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation.
How has Kaufman Rossin contributed to your success with this organization?
Kaufman Rossin has been a great supporter of these organizations, not only providing financial support, but also helping me to raise awareness about the hospital’s foundation and fundraising efforts.
What is your advice for others who are thinking about getting involved in the community?
“Just do it.” Let Nike’s motto be a force of inspiration for you, and get involved in one of the many causes surrounding your community today. Choose an organization that motivates you to help others, and go for it!
