QuickBooks Tip: Use Hubdoc to Sync Financial Documents with Your Accounting
Read
Have you ever found yourself spending countless hours searching through stacks of papers for missing statements or bills? Are you always dreading that call from your accountant at yearend asking, “What were these payments for?”
Well you can put down those bulky document bins and re-connect your phone lines, because there’s an app for that! The Hubdoc document workflow automation app, which is available in the Intuit App Center, is a cloud-based document collection, storage and organization platform that can save you valuable time and help you increase efficiency.
How Hubdoc works
Hubdoc can pull all of your bank statements, recurring bills and uploaded receipts into one hub, reducing the need for manual data entry and filing, and making it easier for your company to finally go paperless. You can access what you need in one place instead of having to log into multiple sites to retrieve the information.
To get started, simply search for your account provider, enter your information and let Hubdoc do the work for you. Once in the hub, information is automatically sorted and organized into searchable and customizable folders that can be viewed on any device. Your data is backed up and is accessible at any time.
For web-based QuickBooks users, the app works seamlessly to extract and synchronize your data with QuickBooks Online. Transactions are automatically created and posted with the original source document attached.
Hubdoc features
Features of the app include:
- Cloud-based access to your documents anywhere, anytime
- Real-time downloading and processing of transactions into QuickBooks Online
- Automatic organization of documents into searchable and customizable folders
- Mobile app that enables you to take a photo of the invoice, receipt or bill and upload it to the hub
- Email alerts that notify you when a new document has been added to the hub
- Security features (256 bit encryption, SSL/TLS and a Premium Extended Validation certificate – as well as monitoring and verification from McAfee and TRUSTe)
For $20 per month, Hubdoc allows for unlimited, multi-user access, which means that you can provide access to your company’s hub to your bookkeeper or accountant.
Kaufman Rossin’s QuickBooks team is always looking for ways to help our QuickBooks clients get the most out of this powerful tool for their business.
