Heidy Duarte of Kaufman Rossin appointed to United Way Miami’s board of directors 

Kaufman Rossin, the largest independent CPA and advisory firm in Florida and one of the top 100 firms in the U.S., announced that risk advisory services Principal Heidy Duarte, CAMS, AMLCA, CFS, CFE, CPA has been appointed to serve on the United Way Miami’s Board of Directors.

The goal of United Way Miami is to enhance the overall well-being of individuals by uniting individuals and resources dedicated to constructing a stronger community. Their vision is to create a prosperous and fair community where everyone has equal access to excellent education and the chance to live a healthy and financially stable life.

In addition to her new role, Duarte serves as an executive member of the United Way Women of Miami-Dade and as co-chair of the Financial & International Business Association’s (FIBA) Women’s Leadership Committee.

Duarte is a highly skilled professional with international experience in public accounting, financial services, and other private sectors with a proven track record in assessing risks combined with extensive knowledge of compliance regulations related to anti-money laundering, foreign assets, and international financial reporting. She has experience working with banks, broker-dealers, money service businesses, insurance, and other non-bank financial institutions. She also possesses expertise in fraud risk assessments and investigations, leading to the development and strengthening of fraud prevention and detection procedures.

She earned her Master of Accounting from Florida International University and completed a Risk Management for Corporate Leaders program from Harvard Business School Executive Education.
