Kaufman Rossin Donates Laptops to Support Digital Literacy in South Florida
Kaufman Rossin announced today that it is donating 50 laptop computers to the South Florida Digital Alliance (SFDA), a nonprofit organization whose goal is to transform the community through digital literacy.
SFDA works with a variety of entities in South Florida (including organizations in government, health care, education, nonprofits and the private sector) to secure and distribute donations, raise the technology quotient of the community and eliminate the digital divide. Donated computers are distributed to the segments of the community with the greatest need – the elderly, children and other nonprofits. SFDA also supplies Technology Learning Centers at public locations like parks, where anyone in the community can have access to a computer.
“The South Florida Digital Alliance aims to empower the community by providing the tools they need to capitalize on educational, economic and social opportunities,” said James E. Osteen, executive director of SFDA. “We are able to accomplish our mission through the generosity and support of organizations like Kaufman Rossin.”
Kaufman Rossin’s learning and development manager, Andrew Phillips, serves on SFDA’s board of directors and organized the donation. “The South Florida Digital Alliance works hard to eliminate the digital divide,” said Phillips. “The computers we donate will go directly into the community, where they’re most needed. The end goal is to educate the community about the power of technology. We’re happy to be a part of that.”
