Kaufman, Rossin’s Amir A. Isaiah Named Adjunct Law Professor at FIU School of Law
MIAMI, June 13, 2012 – Amir A. Isaiah, director of receivership & fiduciary services with Kaufman Rossin, has recently accepted an invitation to join the adjunct faculty at FIU School of Law. Isaiah will be teaching a receivership law course during the fall semester.
Isaiah, a Florida attorney, has extensive experience serving as a federal and state court-appointed receiver, and counsel for receiver, in a variety of matters. He was recently appointed receiver for an international multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme based out of South Florida, and charged with identifying and retrieving assets of the receivership estate, and effectuating an equitable distribution for over 1,800 defrauded investors.
Isaiah has participated in federal and state government investigations by the FBI, SEC, CFTC, NFA, FTC, and FDIC, IRS, U.S. Dept. of Justice, Attorney General of Florida, among others. Furthermore, he has provided forensic accounting, fraud investigation and consulting services for law firms, private companies, and government agencies.
Isaiah is a founding member of the Receivership Law firm specializing in receivership and fiduciary services, real estate law, community association law, commercial litigation, and taxation. He is a co-author of the Receivership Manual for the Florida Judiciary (Revised 2009), and was named as a member of the Board of Contributors for the Daily Business Review, upon publication of his editorial: “New Statute Makes Condo Documents More Amendable,” in 2011.
Isaiah is a recipient of dual Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees in Real Property Development and Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law. He earned his law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music.
