Kaufman Rossin’s Gregory Levy to Speak at Private Funds Tax Master Class

Kaufman Rossin’s Gregory M. Levy, CPA, audit and financial services principal, will be a panelist at the 5th Annual Private Investment Funds Tax Master Class on May 22nd, at the Princeton Club in New York.

Levy will be a presenter at the “1256 Contracts, Section 988 and Straddles” session in the Hedge Fund Track. The presentation will cover: identifying Section 1256 Contracts, straddles and Section 988 transactions; foreign currency contracts; qualified covered call options; and loss deferral and holding period rules.

The two-day tax master class is presented by the Financial Research Associates. It combines both the Tax Practices for Private Equity Funds and the Effective Hedge Fund Tax Practices conferences to give attendees the option of attending information sessions from both tracks.

Levy has an extensive experience with investment advisory firms, hedge funds and securities brokerage firms. He frequently speaks at national seminars that deal with hedge fund taxation, financial reporting and accounting. He has served as a member of the AICPA’s Investment Company Expert Panel.
