Kaufman Rossin, one of the top CPA and advisory firms in the U.S., announced today that Financial Services Assurance and Consulting Principal Nick Tootle, CPA, has been elected to the Hedge Fund Association’s Global Board of Directors.
The Hedge Fund Association (HFA) is a “leading international nonprofit trade and nonpartisan lobbying organization devoted to advancing transparency, development and trust in alternative investments.” HFA members elected Tootle to the global board, where he will serve a three-year term.

Tootle leads assurance and tax engagements at Kaufman Rossin, with a focus in the financial services field. He advises clients across the investment industry, including broker-dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds and other specialty finance entities. His clients rely on his insights ranging from organizational structuring to compliance with accounting and regulatory rules.
In addition to traditional assurance and tax services, Nick leads engagements for investment advisors related to performance reporting. He also works with investment advisors on compliance with the SEC Custody Rule by performing surprise examinations, trust company internal control examinations and independent representative services. Since joining Kaufman Rossin in 1993, Nick has worked with clients on due diligence, internal controls, financial analyses, financial reporting, financial modeling, mergers and acquisitions and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance procedures.
