Kenneth Rios Joins Kaufman Rossin as Tax Principal
Kaufman Rossin announced today that Kenneth Rios has joined the firm as tax principal. He brings more than 17 years of state and local tax expertise to the firm’s growing tax practice, and will be based out of the firm’s Ft. Lauderdale office.
Rios previously served as senior tax manager and the state and local tax practice leader at Crowe Horwath LLP in Ft. Lauderdale. In this role, he assisted clients with state and local income tax, franchise tax, sales and use tax, property tax and unclaimed property. He also managed state and local tax consulting projects, including state tax minimization strategies, restructurings, tax simplification, sales sourcing studies, state voluntary disclosures and more.
He frequently speaks and lectures on state taxes for the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Council on State Taxation, the Tax Executives Institute, Lorman Education Services and the Manufacturers’ Association of Florida.
Rios is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ state and local tax committee, lifetime member of the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) and board member of Miami’s ALPFA chapter.
He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law and master’s degree in business administration in professional accounting from Fordham Graduate School of Business. Rios also has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University.
