Overview
Ernesto M. Diaz is a principal in Kaufman Rossin’s Tax Services Advisory Group, with over a decade of experience in tax planning and compliance for domestic and international clients. He specializes in tax structuring for U.S. real estate investments by foreign investors and tax planning for family-owned businesses, and high-net-worth individuals. His industry experience spans professional services, real estate, hospitality, and distribution.
Before joining Kaufman Rossin, Ernesto served as a Tax Managing Director, where he managed and mentored professional teams in delivering tax, accounting, and consulting services. He advised clients on complex compliance issues across domestic, international, state, and local tax matters, while also driving collaboration with related service areas such as audit, risk advisory, and cost segregation. He also has experience with estate and trust planning.
Ernesto actively engages with the business and nonprofit community. He is a member of Business Network International organization (BNI) and has participated in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami program. He has also contributed to the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) Emerging Leaders Program and supports charitable organizations, including Be Strong International and the Baptist Health Young Philanthropists.
Ernesto is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida and a member of both the FICPA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He earned both his Bachelor of Accounting and Master of Accounting degrees from Florida International University.
