Overview
J. Michael Custer leads the firm’s tax services practice by providing the best working environment for both his staff and his clients.
He joined Kaufman Rossin in 2001, with more than three decades of experience helping corporations and individuals plan and implement tax saving strategies. His areas of expertise include tax planning and compliance involving domestic and multinational corporations, consolidated subchapter C, mergers and acquisitions, flow-through and special purpose entities, individuals, and state and local income taxes.
Primarily, he serves public and closely-held businesses, private equity funds, and high net worth individuals. However, he has also served clients in a variety of industries, including banking, law firms, manufacturing and distribution, and technology.
As both an author and a lecturer, he previously served on the editorial board for FICPA's Florida CPA Today magazine. He has lectured for professional and academic audiences on a variety of tax related topics.
Michael is a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Ft. Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.
