Overview
James Barnett is a senior manager in the Estate & Trust practice, specializing in tax compliance and planning for estates and trusts and working closely with high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses. James has nearly two decades of experience providing comprehensive estate and trust advisory services, including the preparation and review of tax returns for estates, trusts and exempt organizations. In addition, James has been involved in the preparation of numerous federal estate and gift tax returns. James returned to Kaufman Rossin after gaining additional experience at national and regional firms, bringing expanded insight and expertise to the Estate & Trust practice.
James is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®). He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Additionally, James was a past president and 10-year board member of the FICPA Atlantic Chapter, as well as previously serving as a director of the Greater Boca Raton Estate Planning Council. His credentials reflect his commitment to delivering holistic financial and tax planning strategies aligned with clients’ long-term objectives.
James earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wake Forest University and a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Miami.
