Overview

Kory Patrick, CISSP, is a Principal in Kaufman Rossin’s Risk Advisory Services practice, where he leads the firm’s cybersecurity practice. With more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, enterprise risk management, and regulatory compliance, Kory helps organizations of all sizes in highly regulated industries, including financial services, healthcare, and technology, strengthen their cybersecurity, governance, and operational resiliency.

Kory designs and leads security and risk programs that meet regulatory expectations and keep pace with a changing threat landscape. Clients of the cybersecurity practice also benefit from Kaufman Rossin’s partnership with Synack, which delivers AI-powered, continuous penetration testing for regulated companies.

Before joining Kaufman Rossin, Kory was a principal-level leader at a global consulting and advisory firm, overseeing cybersecurity strategy and risk transformation initiatives for large multinational financial institutions. He advised executive leadership teams on governance models, resiliency frameworks, and the secure adoption of emerging technologies. He also led the North American cybersecurity portfolio for the healthcare sector at a large international professional services organization, guiding clients through security modernization across cloud and hybrid environments.

Kory also works closely with private equity firms and their portfolio companies, providing cybersecurity due diligence during acquisitions and helping leadership teams identify and protect critical digital assets, including trade secrets and intellectual property, throughout the deal lifecycle.

Earlier in his career, Kory spent more than a decade in federal service in a cyber leadership role. He directed high-impact investigations and coordinated with national and international partners on cybersecurity, threat intelligence, and critical infrastructure protection.

Kory’s areas of focus include cyber governance and risk management, Zero Trust architecture, identity and access management (IAM), incident response, cloud and emerging technology security, IoT/OT convergence and industrial control system security, and alignment with regulatory and industry frameworks.

Kory is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. He is also an Executive Member of Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale.
