Overview
Michael Brainard is a senior manager in the entrepreneurial services practice. He has extensive experience providing accounting and tax services for entrepreneurial clients in all stages of growth including start-ups. He specializes in working with closely-held businesses and their shareholders.
Mike brings 21 years of public accounting experience providing tax planning & compliance and financial reporting services to clients across various industries including manufacturing & distribution, retail, law firms, and construction.
Prior to joining Kaufman Rossin, Mike served as a tax director at another Top 100 firm where he managed the annual tax compliance and planning process for middle-market companies and their shareholders. Additionally, he provided outsourced controller and financial reporting services to the firm’s clients.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Indiana. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Indiana CPA society. Mike received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University Northwest and master's degree in taxation from DePaul University.
