Kaufman Rossin in the Community: FICPA Educational Foundation
Read
Jason Chorlins talks about his involvement with a non-profit organization.
Which organization are you involved in and what is its objective?
I am supporting the FICPA Educational Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization that raises money to provide scholarships and education programs to Florida’s prospective and current accounting students.
What is your role with the organization?
I am currently serving as the president-elect and a member of the Board of Trustees.
Why did you decide to get involved in this organization?
As a member of the accounting industry, I see the opportunity available to young people who aspire to pursue this career path. The Educational Foundation supports the future of our profession and provides an opportunity for those young people to succeed.
How has Kaufman Rossin contributed to your success with this organization?
Kaufman Rossin will donate 100% of the profits from this month’s jeans day fundraiser to the FICPA Educational Foundation. They have also provided sponsorships and commitment to the foundation in the past. I know that our donation will directly impact students in Florida communities and I’m grateful to the firm for their support.
What is your advice for others who are thinking about getting involved in the community?
I think it’s important to be passionate about the organization you get involved with. Don’t just get involved to put something on your resume. Be willing to give more than just your money. Your time, your skills and your passion are all valuable donations to a community organization that can help make a real difference.
