See beyond the numbers to real value
Read
There are two ways to approach difficult times like these. We can wallow in the bad news (with much moaning and gnashing of teeth) or we can see beyond the numbers to find new opportunities.
It’s all about value: how can we add value? Every day, we can deliver more value to our clients, to our employees, to our businesses, and to ourselves.
- Delivering more value to a client could mean providing smart advice they might not find elsewhere, or introducing them to someone who might help solve a problem. Or it could mean just inviting them to share a cup of coffee and talk about how things are going.
- Delivering more value to an employee could mean setting aside fifteen minutes for a weekly meeting, to make sure you address minor issues before they become major.
- Delivering more value to your business could mean finding ways to innovate, respond quickly, and adapt to change.
- Delivering more value to yourself could mean “sharpening the saw” (as Stephen Covey puts it) by finding opportunities to learn and grow each week.
seebeyondthenumbers is an ongoing exploration of how we can all add more value every day — and make our lives and our businesses smarter, more successful, and more satisfying.
