Blain Heckaman Recognized for Accounting Excellence by Ball State University
Blain Heckaman, CPA, CEO of Kaufman Rossin, received the 2019 Paul W. Parkison Department of Accounting Award of Excellence, presented by his alma mater Ball State University.
The award is a top recognition bestowed upon alumni for outstanding professional and personal accomplishments. It was presented at the 10th Annual Accounting Alumni Awards Dinner on April 29, 2019 at Ball State University.
Blain says of his Ball State experience, “My accounting and business education provided by talented professors and led by Dr. Paul Parkison provided the foundation for my first public accounting job upon graduation from college. The Ball State Career Center was instrumental in providing the environment that allowed me to access opportunities for employment at a time when jobs were not easily obtained.”
In addition to a winning accounting career culminating in his leadership of Kaufman Rossin, Blain has been instrumental in the success of several civic service organizations. He is a past chair and current board member of Voices for Children Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization that raises funds for abused, abandoned and neglected children of Miami-Dade County. He’s also a member of the Strategic Forum, a CEO organization dedicated to the exchange of ideas and helping others, including the mentoring of business students.
“My Ball State education and experiences were instrumental in shaping who I am today, both as a person and as a professional. I am honored and humbled by this award.”
