Overview
Blain Heckaman’s retirement from active practice in 2026 marks the close of a remarkable chapter at Kaufman Rossin, where he now holds the status of Principal Emeritus. Over more than four decades with the firm, Blain served as Chief Executive Officer for more than a decade, guiding Kaufman Rossin’s growth, strategic vision and innovation initiatives, and helping position the firm as one of the top 100 CPA and advisory firms in the U.S.
During his tenure, Blain championed the firm’s expansion of specialized business consulting, risk advisory and forensic advisory practices to complement its traditional services, always remaining focused on the firm’s core mission of improving clients’ businesses and helping protect them from risk. His extensive technical expertise in financial reporting and other assurance areas added to his strategic perspective on the challenges and opportunities that business leaders face.
Blain has been active in the South Florida community and has been recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as a Power Leader, Ultimate CEO and Key Partner. He chairs the YWCA’s Economic Justice Council, a group of businesses dedicated to creating more inclusive industries, corporations and workplaces. He is past chairman and current board member of Voices for Children Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization that raises funds for the abused, abandoned and neglected children of Miami-Dade County. He is also a member of the Strategic Forum, a CEO organization dedicated to the exchange of ideas and helping others, including mentoring business students.
Blain is a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and Indiana, and he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
