Now in its second year, the list recognizes the finest active certified public accountants across the country, honoring practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional expertise, innovation, thought leadership, and service to their communities and profession.

The 2026 list, published April 15, 2026, was sourced from a universe of several thousand candidates drawn from nominations, recognition from respected CPA associations, and independent research. Nominees were evaluated on weighted criteria including expertise, innovation, thought leadership, experience, and community service. As with all Forbes lists, candidates do not pay any fee to be considered or selected.
