Joy A. Batteen of Kaufman Rossin Recognized as one of 2024’s Most Influential Business Women
Kaufman Rossin, the largest independent CPA and advisory firm in Florida and one of the top 100 firms in the U.S., announced Chief People Officer Joy Batteen has been named as one of 2024’s Most Influential Business Women by the South Florida Business Journal (SFBJ).
The award honors 25 women executives who have a strong record of leadership, performance and innovation in their industries as well as meaningful involvement within their community.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as a leader in my industry,” said Batteen. “I aim to uplift our employees daily, providing them with the support they need to thrive in their careers and genuinely enjoy their time at work. A people-first culture is the key to success.”
Batteen focuses on engaging employees when managing Kaufman Rossin’s Human Resources (HR) programs, from recruitment and employee retention initiatives to employee benefits, performance management and conflict resolutions. Moreover, Joy influences business practice decisions and stays abreast of employment-related legal news to achieve the firm’s HR objectives. She also manages the firm’s wellness initiatives, leading Kaufman Rossin to win the “Best Health & Wellbeing Program” award at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Excellence in HR Awards.
Joy is active in the community and is the president of P.E.O., Chapter EL (an international philanthropic educational organization) and past co-chair of 150+ Women Strong, an initiative by Girls Inc. of Greater Miami. She is also a member of HR Miami. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Kansas.
