Kaufman Rossin’s Carlos Somoza Presents International Tax Strategies

Carlos Somoza, J.D., LL.M., an international tax principal with Kaufman Rossin, was a guest speaker at the South Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Joint Tax Seminar in Boca Raton on November 7, 2013.

Somoza lead a discussion titled “Don’t Let the Tax Bug Bite Your Clients Twice – U.S. Tax Rules and Strategies for Outbound Investors.”  He spoke about tax and legal challenges faced by U.S. business owners when operating internationally and offered important strategies for avoiding additional tax burdens.

The Joint Tax Seminar was presented with the Atlantic Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA).

Somoza has more than 15 years of experience in federal income, gift and estate taxation. He provides international inbound and outbound planning for U.S. and foreign multinational corporations, including foreign tax credit planning and structuring utilizing the Entity Classification tax provisions.
