Overview

As a leader in Kaufman Rossin’s assurance and advisory services practice, Lazaro heads audit engagements and performs assurance services for private and public companies. He is one of the firm’s manufacturing and distribution industry leaders, and has vast experience advising wholesalers and retailers.

Laz conducts group audits for multi-national corporations. He collaborates with foreign and domestic subsidiaries and their auditors, promoting communication and efficiency throughout the entire auditing process. He also counsels private companies on covenant compliance, identifying and explaining parameters in bank loans that affect clients’ financial performance.

Laz specializes in preparing and reviewing income tax provisions for financial statements, as well as recommending strategies to improve internal controls. He analyzes clients’ finances and provides insight and guidance to help them identify financial risks and opportunities so they can achieve their financial goals.

Laz joined Kaufman Rossin in 1996 and has been a champion for IT innovation. Leveraging his IT knowledge internally, he analyzes new software and participates in IT-related business decisions to streamline the auditing process throughout his department. He also teaches employees how to use software efficiently once adopted. Laz has also spoken to university students in forensic auditing classes, presenting guidance on how to efficiently and effectively operate data manipulation software to analyze information.

He is a Certified Public Accountant in Florida, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
