On September 5th, the South Florida Business Journal honored women business leaders at its annual Influential Business Women Awards. Kaufman Rossin Principal Kara Stearns Sharp, CPA, CFF, CFE, was one of those honored, along with a number of clients and friends of the firm.
The program, which began in 2010, is notable not just for the recognition it brings to several dozen South Florida leaders each year, but also for the quality of the assembled participants at each luncheon. Former honorees were everywhere in the ballroom at The Signature Grand; prominent women from all of South Florida’s industries and professions were represented.
Each honoree was asked to share a brief “pearl of wisdom,” and themes emerged: helping others, learning from both successes and failures, passion for your work and integrity. Kara encouraged others to follow her example: “Learn from everyone… be that mentor to others and bring them through the ranks.”
“Kara’s commitment to our community and her professional skills are outstanding. Her impact may be most strongly felt by the younger professionals she mentors and guides,” said Mike Elkin, who leads the forensic, advisory and valuations group for Kaufman Rossin. “She is a great role model for all of us. I am proud to be her partner.”
Congratulations to all of the 2014 Influential Business Women.
