MIAMI, Dec. 20, 2011 – Kaufman Rossin, one of the largest independent accounting firms in Florida, celebrated the holiday season of giving by participating in a toy drive to benefit
Voices For Children Foundation.
The not-for-profit organization works to provide abused and neglected children in Miami-Dade County with a court-appointed Guardian Ad Litem to represent them in dependency court proceedings.
Employees at Kaufman Rossin’s Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Boston and New York offices participated by collecting
gifts for 155 children between the ages of six-months and 17-years-old. Among others, Ed Hirschberg, a principal with the firm, sponsored 10 children and Carmen Castellas, a hedge fund accountant, sponsored a family of four as part of the toy drive.
“This is the most magical time of the year for everyone especially children. That’s why it’s important that we don’t forget the children who would otherwise not have a gift to unwrap this holiday season,” said Castellas.
The firm is a longtime supporter of Voices for Children. Principal Blain Heckaman serves on the board of directors as the treasurer.
