Overview
Nick P. Tootle joined Kaufman Rossin in 1993 and co-leads the Firm’s financial services assurance and consulting practice. He spearheads assurance and tax engagements for clients in various industries with a focus on the financial services field. His clients rely on his insights ranging from organizational structuring to compliance with accounting and regulatory rules. Nick advises clients across the investment industry, including broker-dealers, investment advisers, hedge funds, commodity pools, private equity funds, and real estate funds.
In addition to traditional assurance and tax services, Nick leads engagements for investment advisors related to performance reporting. He also works with investment advisors on compliance with the SEC Custody Rule by performing surprise examinations, trust company internal control examinations and independent representative services.
Nick was elected to the global board of the Hedge Fund Association (HFA) and served six years ending in 2024. He continues to serve on the HFA’s partnership and regulatory committees. Nick also serves on the board of the Education Fund and the Grove Isle HOA as their treasurer. Additionally, he is a member of the Miami Finance Forum and the Florida International Funds Organization. Nick was formerly appointed to the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Audit Committee and served from 2006 through 2010. He is a CPA in Florida and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
