Standing on our own. Leaving people better off.
How our independence enabled a year of growth, evolution, and impact for our clients, our people, and our communities.
A year defined by independence
For Kaufman Rossin, staying independent isn’t just an aspiration. It shapes every decision we make. In fiscal year 2026, our independence led to a leadership transition built on continuity, not outside pressure; investment in our people and capabilities; and innovative new ways to serve our clients, all while our professionals embodied what it means to be part of an organization that answers only to the people and the communities it serves.

A legacy of leadership, an independent future
June 1, 2026, marked the official transition of Kaufman Rossin’s leadership, a planned succession that maintains operational continuity and independence. Blain Heckaman, our outgoing CEO of 14 years, passed the CEO torch to Marc Feigelson. Marc brings nearly 30 years with the firm to the CEO role. He joined Kaufman Rossin as an audit manager in 1998, became a principal in 2012 and led the real estate industry group, and served as CFO from 2022 until becoming CEO in June.
Our leadership transition was guided by our dedication to serving our people and our clients, for the long term. Kaufman Rossin is one of the largest partner-owned CPA and advisory firms in the country, and we intend to keep it that way.

Innovation
Does it make our people better?
In the rush to embrace artificial intelligence, many firms are focused on finding near-term cost reduction. Kaufman Rossin is guided by a different question: will adopting AI in an aspect of our business make us better? It’s a simple standard that keeps us focused on what matters in the long run: serving our clients, our people, and our communities.
How we’re answering it
We study AI alongside our clients.
As a mid-market firm ourselves, we face many of the same AI opportunities and challenges as our clients. Our first State of AI in the Middle Market report surveyed 100 senior decision-makers on how companies move from experimenting with AI to running on it, and pairs their insights with our own experience as an adopter and advisor.
Read the reportOur people learn it first.
No AI initiative reaches its full potential if people don’t understand or buy in. Through our AI Learning & Enablement Program, professionals across our firm build hands-on AI skills, with regular briefings that keep them current on what’s changing and what it means for client work.
We adopt AI at our own pace.
As an independent, partner-owned firm, we set our own technology timeline. New tools reach our people and clients when we’ve proven they will help us enhance the way we serve our clients, our people, and our communities.
